Red/Blue Versions
The Red and Blue Versions of the Pokemon games were the first ones to come out in Canada(and, of course, America) and were based on the japanese versions of the games. When you first start the game, Professor Oak(the leading authority on all Pokemon) asks you what your name and your rival's name should be. After that, you should go out of your room and outside into the grass at the top of the small town. Professor Oak should come running after you. Follow him inside him lab. Then he will ask you to pick one of the three pokemon he has left. The one on the far left is Bulbasaur(Plant/Poison type) then in the middle is Squirtle(Water type) and the far right is Charmander(Fire type). No matter what you choose, your rival will choose the type that is strong against your type(e.g If you pick Bulbasaur, he will pick Charmander)
